Hey guys, I’m Erin.
Most important thing about me: I am loved by God.
When I remember this most important thing, I’m a much happier, more content person with a purpose and a passion in life. When I lose sight of that most important thing, I easily get upset, discouraged, complacent and hopeless. You’d think then, that I’d simply always remember how loved I am by God. But in this fallen world, torn apart by sin and in a spiritual war with the devil as adversary; it’s a battle to keep my mind on Jesus. Everyday I must choose to remember and look for His love for me. It’s too easy to get lost in life without my eyes fixed upon my Savior, my Jesus—the Lover of my soul. But that’s why the battle in this life is worth it—because one day I get to see Him face to face and be in His presence FOREVER. I can’t wait!
I haven’t had a hard life. But I’ve seen enough of the world to have seen hard things. I’ve seen the ugliness of sin and the hatred of the devil against humanity. My heart breaks over injustice and oppression.
I was raised in a great, BIG, Christian family, with 5 younger brothers and sisters as well as various pets at various times. There was never a dull moment growing up in the McOlin home. My mom and dad kept us kids all rooted deep in the Word and ignited a fire in us to live for God with all our hearts and be world-changers. I’m often surprised at the “dangerous” things they let us do—but they were confident that God could take care of us no matter what.
I graduated from high school and forsook all attempts at a regular life. I moved to Russia and lived and worked there in a home for neglected children. I also lived in Taiwan, India and in Uzbekistan. You can contact me if you want to hear more…
I have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and seeing people go deeper in there relationship with Jesus.
I love living in other cultures, and learning other languages.
I recently married the love of my life and best friend, Michael Melenka.
I enjoy writing, being with friends, hanging with my hubby, taking pictures, playing board games and drinking coffee.
